Please join the Mines Integrated CCUS Initiative and the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines as we welcome Michael Turner, Director of Building Innovation & Energy Finance – Colorado Energy Office AND Laura Singer, CCUS Program Manager – Payne Institute for Public Policy presenting a virtual seminar titled Colorado’s CCUS Task Force and Key Policy Recommendations for States on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10:30am – 11:00am (MT).
In 2019, Colorado adopted goals of reducing greenhouse gas pollution by 26 percent by 2025, 50 percent by 2030, and 90 percent by 2050 from a 2005 baseline. As part of the near-term actions in its Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap, Colorado identified the development & utilization of a Task Force as an important step to better understand the role that carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) can play in meeting the state’s emissions targets.
Learn how Colorado is moving forward with their carbon neutral initiatives and exploring main elements that will be evaluated by the CCUS Task Force, and make Colorado a leading carbon neutral state. Some of the elements the team will be looking at are state-wide CCUS opportunities, available resources, state and federal regulation and standardization issues, and industry wide recommendations.
