Nicole Hanson graduated from Mines in 2014 in Mechanical Engineering with a Humanitarian Engineering (HE) minor and now works for the International Copper Association as a Sustainability Specialist. She will share her journey from mechanical engineering to sustainability, deep-dive into a comparison between the efforts to improve artisanal scale gold mining and a related project in the copper industry, and exchange ideas with participants on how their research and design projects fit into “life after Mines”.
