Concert in the Library – Mines Recorder Group of Ancient Aires

November 30, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

The Mines Recorder Group of Ancient Aires are new to the Arthur Lakes Library Concert Series this year and will be sharing the beautiful and sweet clear tones of Medieval and Renaissance Recorder music with the Mines Community. Beginning in the Middle Ages, sacred and secular recorder music was learned and played by ear. With the invention of the printing press, music scores popularized recorder music throughout the churches and royal courts of Europe. The group includes Sandrine Ricote, Research Professor Mechanical Engineering; Todd Ruskell, Teaching Professor Physics; Meridee Cecil, Adjunct Instructor HASS and Ed Cecil, University Emeritus Physics Professor.

Bring a friend and enjoy the festive ambiance of Medieval and Renaissance recorder music. Brown bag lunches welcome. Hot and cold beverages served.
