ED Talks: Minerals Worth Sharing

Join us as Ed Raines explores the geology of the Creede Mining District on Thursday, June 21. The 1-hour talk begins at 4 p.m. in the Library’s Boettcher Room. Light refreshments served.

Ed is a geologist, mineralogist and award-winning mining historian and recently served as President of the Mining History Association. He has written numerous papers, articles and a book on the geology, mineralogy, and mining history of many Colorado mining districts. Several of these have received special awards. He also received a special award for his efforts in the historic preservation of the Leadville Mining District. Ed is a popular speaker and has given many lectures on mining history and geology in Colorado and across the country. He has organized and managed annual conferences with field trips for the Mining History Association at Leadville, Creede, and Gold Hill.
