GARP sets the global standard in professional certification with the Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) and Energy Risk Professional (ERP®) certifications. These programs are rigorous and very well respected across the globe. Earning the Energy Risk Professional (ERP) designation can help differentiate you in an increasingly competitive market. As a Certified ERP you will be prepared for jobs with increasing breadth and responsibility, including senior management positions that require the ability to assess and manage risk strategically to create value for your organization.
Lisa Ponti is the Vice President of Institutional Outreach at Global Assocation of Risk Professionals (GARP). Dr. Ponti has a BS in Finance with an Econmoics minor from Penn State University as well as an MBA with a conctnration in Finance and a Doctorate in Business Education from New York Univesity. She provides coordinated support of outreach efforts among institutional partners (academic, corporate and regulatory) of the organization, with particular focus on North, Central and South America.
Tyler McCandless is a Machine Learning Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder and a Certified Energy Risk Professional. He earned a three degrees in Meteorology from Penn State University: PhD in 2015, MS in 2010, and BS in 2010. Tyler was hired by NCAR, current projects include using machine learning techniques to improve wind and solar power prediction for a project in Kuwait and building an algorithm to improve wildfire prediction.
