Golden Town & Gown Book Club – Andrew Terrill’s On Sacred Ground
March 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm MDT
Date: Wednesday, March 29, 2023
Time: 12:00 pm (noon) – 1:30 pm
Location: Boettcher Room
The Arthur Lakes Library is happy to announce the return of the Golden Town & Gown Book Club to read and discuss On Sacred Ground by Golden resident, author and photographer, Andrew Terrill.
In March 2022, the Town & Gown met to discuss Andrew’s first book, The Earth Beneath My Feet – an adventure travel narrative that chronicles the first half of an extraordinary 7,000-mile wilderness hike. Afterwards, attendees requested that Andrew should return once the book covering the journey’s second half was published.
This second book, On Sacred Ground, is now available. Picking up the trail where the first book left off, On Sacred Ground leads the reader through the wild parts of Central Europe that many visitors miss, then onwards to the empty reaches of Arctic Norway. Containing a recap so that reading the first volume isn’t essential, the book will appeal to fans of nature and mountains, travel and hiking, and journeys of inner growth.
This event will feature a Q&A discussion with Andrew to share further stories and insights, as well as to explore themes that go beyond the text. Andrew – better known locally for his striking Golden photographs – will give a short presentation of photographs from his hike.
This event is open to everyone! This includes Mines’ students, employees, and Golden residents. Attendance is limited to 80 people. Go here to register
Copies of On Sacred Ground can be purchased through Amazon (where the ebook is also available), and through other online stores. For further book details, please visit the author’s website: AndrewTerrill.com.
This event is un-catered. It will take place on March 29th, 2023, from noon to 1:30 pm at the Arthur Lakes Library, (1500 Illinois St, Golden, CO 80401).
We hope you can join us, and in the meantime: happy reading!
