Golden Town & Gown – When Rivers Run Dry, by Fred Pearce – Discussion led by Mines Hydrologist Professor Kamini Singha Pearce

April 8, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Golden Town and Gown Book Club (TGBC) will discuss When Rivers Run Dry, by Fred Pearce in a Zoom meeting on April 8, 2021. Mr. Pearce is an entertaining, British writer, with an international perspective.

The topic of water supply is thought by some to rival climate change in importance to our country. Our Discussion Leader will be Mines Professor of Hydrology Kamini Singha, who was the 2019 Mines Faculty Senate Distinguished Lecturer on the topic of water supply.

Our 4/8/21 meeting is the result of a poll by TGBC members to have Bill McKee, one of Colorado’s water experts, lead the discussion. Unfortunately, Bill’s unexpected, recent demise meant we might not have a TGBC meeting this semester. However, Dr. Singha kindly agreed to lead our discussion, and City Councilor Jim Dale agreed to give an initial brief encomium to Bill.

We hope you can join our zoom by registering with the link below.
