“How Drones Are Changing Mining” – Propeller Aero

Presenters: Kevin Hanley & Rory San Miguel

Kevin is the Propeller Director of Sales, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has been working in technical sales for over 23 years with a focus on Mining and Industrial Engineering.

Rory is the Founder and CEO of Propeller, and holds a degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. He founded Propeller in 2014 after finishing academia and has successfully grown the company to where it is today.

Abstract:

Propeller is trusted by leading mining companies worldwide to ensure their drone operations are delivering maximum ROI through high quality data and ease of access. In this presentation, Propeller will show how mines are using aerial drone survey data to: reduce costs and risks with remote surveying, accurately measure stockpiles and extraction pits in minutes, and monitor progress and identify deviations quickly. They will walk through actual workflow and show how cloud hosting enables anybody with a web browser to access Orthomosaic maps, Digital Elevation Models, 3D terrain models and a range of other visualizations to explore, measure and collaborate.
