NSBE Homecoming: Cultural Celebration

February 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

The NSBE cultural celebration is a display of American Black history. There will be an assortment of food that represents the rich diaspora of black culture. There will be a keynote speaker to discuss the 150th anniversary of the Fifteenth Amendment (1870) which gave the right of black men to vote following the Civil War. It also marks the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment (1920) and the culmination of the women’s suffrage movement. Also, there will be several interactive performances such as drum performance by Montbello Drumline, Mines’ Alumni jazz solo, introduction to black greek life by Delta Delta Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and a discussion form of “Black Card Revoked”.  By doing this we are truly representing black culture by spreading and sharing our lives. Free to the public and food provided! “
