Please join the Countdown TEDx Calgary Webinar Series as they welcome Payne Institute Senior Research Associate Dr. Sara Hastings-Simon on a TEDx Calgary presentation titled Countdown to Climate Change on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm (MT).

They’re on a countdown to climate change, and need to change their trajectory quickly.

TED Countdown is a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action. The goal: To build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world – a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone.

As part of this event, TED is bringing together scientists, activists, entrepreneurs, urban planners, farmers, CEOs, investors, artists, government officials, and others to find the most effective, evidence-based ideas out there. The shared goal is to identify the bold solutions that can be activated when people break out of their silos and rise to the challenge.

Join TEDxYYC, TEDxCalgary, TEDxYouth@VictoriaPark and Calgary Climate Hub for an evening of curated talks from the TED Countdown event to help get the ideas flowing, followed by discussion panels to provide local Calgary and Alberta context.

And, don’t miss the opportunity to jump into deep and dynamic group discussions!

Panelists include:

Dan Balaban, Greengate Energy

Madison Savilow, Carbon Upcycling

Dr. Joe Vipond, Calgary Climate Hub

Dr. Sara Hastings-Simon, Payne Institute
