The RTT Office is hosting a brainstorming workshop on Mines expertise in hypersonics that will be led by Joy Gockel (ME) and Veronica Eliasson (ME). This workshop will seek to establish a multi-disciplinary collection of expertise at Mines relevant to hypersonic applications enabling future project teaming and collaboration. Hypersonics is defined as having a Mach number great than 5 and many underlying technologies are required to enable hypersonic flight. Workshop participants are sought in the areas of materials, structures, manufacturing, advanced testing, modeling and simulation, propulsion, energetics and any other fields relevant to hypersonic conditions. The outcome of this workshop will be a roadmap of fundamental research areas for which Mines has the relevant expertise to contribute and the identification of possible funding sources for proposals.
The workshop agenda is below and includes time for lightning talks, 5 minutes. If you are interested in presenting, please send your title to Lisa Kinzel (Lkinzel@mines.edu) by April 28th. We will finalize the presentation schedule and get it to you by the 2nd of May.
